Nobita promises to take Shizuka through the time machine 12,000 years ago to find an ancient necklace, but the time machine malfunctions and mistakenly takes Shizuka 12,000 years ago when Nobita was not there. Shizuka accidentally erases her memories with a forgettable flower, and she can't remember anything. Nobita, Doraemon, Suneo and Gian go back 12,000 years ago using the Time Belt to save her.While there, they are attacked by a clan led by a mysterious figure with a saber-toothed tiger and a red mask. Nobita and the others run away and eventually fall into a ravine. They are later rescued by MiG who tells them that the Mask tribe may know of Shizuka's whereabouts, although they are corrupted by the rule of the Red Mask, an evil man said to control animals. Is. They are then attacked by the Mask tribe where the Red Mask reveals itself. Nobita asks Red Mask if he knows about Shizuka's whereabouts, but Red Mask ignores him and leaves, adding to his confusion.The next day, Nobita and Doraemon decide to head to the mountains to find the Mask Tribe's village and find out where Shizuka might be. Before leaving, Mig gives Nobita a necklace, containing the stones that Nobita has been collecting to show Shizuka, and asks Nobita to make a wish which he does. Nobita and Doraemon eventually climb the mountains and break into the village of the Mask Tribe. While there, they find Nobita's backpack that was in the machine when it broke down and Momotaro Jirushi Millet Dumplings in the bag are missing. Doraemon then assumes that the Red Mask may have used the dumplings to control the animals and therefore may have been Shizuka, leaving both he and Nobita confused as to why he did not recognize them. Just then, they see the Red Mask go inside the cave and follow them, however this leads to a trap and they are captured by the Masked tribe, where a sorceress serving the Red Mask herself, Shamate. reveals to. They capture Nobita and Doraemon and are about to sacrifice them to the saber-toothed tiger, when Gian and Suneo accompany Mig and his tribe and rescue them.Nobita and Doraemon then follow Shmate and Red Mask to the room of the gods, where Shmate reveals that she is keeping the Forgetting Flower and Momotaro Jirushi Millet Dumplings in a disguise and that the Red Mask is actually Shizuka, who has lost his life. Memories are lost and brainwashed thanks to the Forgetting Flower. Shmate reveals that with the Forgetting Flower and Momotaro Jirushi Millet Dumplings, she can become a god as many times as she wants and end the hunt. She then orders Shizuka to attack Nobita and Doraemon, to which Shizuka complies and proceeds to attack them. Nobita tries to defend himself and reaches out to Shizuka to help him remember, although he is quickly disarmed. Just as Shizuka is about to shock Nobita, he shows her a necklace made by MiG, forcing Shizuka to remember the promise he made to Nobita at the museum. Nobita then reveals that he wishes he and Shizuka to remain friends forever and puts the necklace on him, causing him to miss Nobita and gain some control. Shmete then attempts to kill Nobita with the spear that Nobita was using, but Shizuka strikes him, causing the necklace to flash a green light that covers the area. After the green light fades, Nobita runs to Shizuka, who has regained all his memories and is relieved. Doraemon then takes the opportunity to use the Forgetting Flower on Shanette and apologizes to the Mask Tribe for betraying them.Afterwards, Shizuka apologizes to Mig and her father for the trouble she caused, to which Mig says it was not her fault but Shannet's. Just then, Nobita notices that Mig has the same necklace he and Shizuka saw in the museum, and Mig reveals that he made it while Nobita and Doraemon leave for the mountains and fulfill their wish. Nobita and the gang bid Mig and his father farewell and return to their time on the repaired time machine.
In the present day, Tamako is furious for lying to Nobita about studying, and decides to stay in Nobita's room until he can, much to Nobita's dismay. The special ends with Doraemon stating that Tamako may be more powerful than a giant.
